These two types of fish are closely related.
They are nocturnal and thus have large eyes for vision in the
dark. Soldierfish are deep bodied, while squiirelfish are more tapered
and have a protruding jaw. Squirrelfish feed mainly on small fish
and invertebrates, while soldierfish feed on zooplankton.
Soldierfish are so named because they travel in very large
schools.
